Shalom from the Merrimack Valley Jewish Federation

We are a welcoming, caring community with active synagogues, summer camp, service organizations and Federation programs. Come join us!

Building A Future

Federation invests in programs that foster Jewish joy, learning and connections for children, teens, college students and young families. These efforts include The PJ Library Program, Jewish Family Initiative, Israel travel subsidies, Taglit-Birthright Israel, UMass Hillel Shabbat celebrations, Camper scholarships and grants to local synagogues and organizations.

Caring and Helping

Programs funded by Jewish Federation make a difference for people in need locally, in Israel and around the world. Federation gives life-saving relief to desperate Jews living in places where no social services exist. We provide disaster response and assistance to some of the world's most vulnerable people and resources to restore and rebuild Jewish life in countries where it has been diminished or extinguished.

We are One People

Federation connects the Merrimack Valley Jewish community with the people of Israel. Our service delivery partners provide on-going assistance to the elderly and disabled, holocaust victims, new immigrants, hungry children, and families living with terrorism. In addition, the MVJF has developed a personal connection with the Yemin Orde Youth Village near Haifa.

It's all about Community

The Federation is the only community-wide Jewish organization that serves the spectrum of Jewish life and observance throughout the Merrimack Valley. The MVJF produces community activities, serves as a voice of the Jewish community, convenes community members to share knowledge, ideas and experiences, and organizes community responses to crises locally and abroad.

Jewish Federation Partner JDC is aiding

Hurricane Matthew Victims

in Haiti

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) is responding to Hurricane Matthew’s widespread destruction in Haiti focusing on medical aid and other basic needs provision for beleaguered storm victims. JDC – which deployed extensive relief and rebuilding efforts aiding hundreds of thousands in Haiti following the devastating earthquake in 2010 – is providing medical supplies and medical team assistance through its partner on the ground, Heart to Heart International.

JDC’s relief work in Haiti will focus on the hardest-hit areas in the south of the island where reports of torrential rains, flooding, and strong winds were accompanied by damage to homes, farming stock and land, and infrastructure like bridges.

Jewish Federations Address Anti-Semitism in France

Since the horrific events in France there has been an outpouring of support from the North American Jewish community. Jewish Federations across the continent have provided philanthropic support to help victims’ families and enhance security at the nearly 500 Jewish sites throughout France.

The Umbrella Body for French Jewish Organizations) reports that violent anti-Semitic acts doubled in France. Jewish Federations and our partner agencies will be there to support and assist the Jews in France and Europe, whether they choose to stay in their respective nations and combat anti-Semitism, or they make aliyah, or they resettle in North America, as so many Europeans did in past centuries.

Together We Did Extraordinary Things!

When the cry for help rang out from Israeli citizens suffering amidst rocket attacks from Gaza, our community responded. We came together with common purpose to provide services through Federation partner organizations in Israel. Your generosity and commitment helped enable the extraordinary work of the Joint Distribution Committee, Jewish Agency for Israel and World ORT to heal those who were hurting, repair what was damaged and provide support for First Responders. Thank you ~ Todah Rabbah.
